BIRDS

Birds in India are aplenty, many are residents, while there are the summer visitors, winter visitors, migratory visitors, and the occasional, scarce or erratic passer-by. IUCN lists more than 180 species of Indian birds as threatened with global extinction. Many of these species are endemic to the Indian Subcontinent, which has special relevance for conservation of birds in India.
